Generalised
Alert System Jataayu Alert Handling Assistant (jAHA) is a generalized
alert system which can be used with your existing application to alert the end-user
based on his/her scheduled events and preferences. Examples are getting news everyday,
getting the information of stock options, getting the score card for every hour,
bank information etc. The various channels supported by the alert framework are
SMS on the users mobile phone, E-mail, Voice, Fax or by WAP Push.
Architecture
This is explained briefly in the figure above. The framework is used to alert
enable any existing application. To alert enable an application the following
needs to be done: Step 1. Register users/customers of
the application for alerts with jAHA. During registration the user preferences
and the kind of alerts they wish to receive are registered This is the registration
module. Step 2. Configure jAHA to receive content for
evaluation and generation of alerts. jAHA can be configured to poll for content
or be setup to receive content. This is the monitoring module. Step
3. The alerts generated in step 2 are dispatched. This is the
dispatch module. There is an administration module for configuring and
maintaining jAHA. Different templates can be built for formatting messages
and registered with jAHA. These templates are used to format the alert message
dispatcher to the user/customer. APIs are provided for interacting with Registration
module and Dispatcher module. Socket based jAHA protocol can also be
used to interact with the modules. The monitoring module is built to accept
XML based data over HTTP. The channels supported for dispatch are:
