How does the Jataayu Enterprise WAP Server help in providing WAP access to users? Who are the probable customers?
The EWS acts as a gateway between the WAP device and the application. It bridges the two protocols - HTTP and WAP by taking care of the protocol conversion. It also includes support for WTLS security.

The EWS has been exclusively developed for usage by any organization, which would like to provide WAP content/application to its customers. It could be implemented on a Simple Corporate Intranet, a Portal for generic browsing, online mobile transactions such as Banks, Share Broking, Ticket Reservation, Health Care, etc.

How can the Enterprise WAP Server be accessed?
The EWS is accessible either through a Dial-up RAS or through ISP. Depending on the solution, one could implement an Enterprise WAP Gateway either on a local LAN where in the user has to dial into the RAS setup in the Intranet or the WAP Gateway machine could be made available on a Public IP, so that the users can reach the Gateway from anywhere across the globe by dialing through any ISP.

Does Jataayu Enterprise WAP Gateway support CLI? How is this achieved?
Yes, Jataayu EWS has an inbuilt component that is capable of receiving CLI information and also forwarding it as an http header to the origin application. This is achieved with the help of Jataayu's another product - the Identity server, which resides between the RAS and the RADIUS to capture the CLI and map it with the IP address allotted by the RADIUS. This information is then shared with the EWS.

Yes, Jataayu Enterprise WAP Gateway supports Unconfirmed PUSH as part of the WAP 1.2 specification.

Has this PUSH functionality been tested on any device?
The PUSH functionality has been tested on Palm OS and Win CE devices running Jataayu's WAP Browser - jBrowser.

Will Jataayu Enterprise WAP Server work in a CDMA environment?
We have not implemented this solution on a CDMA network. However, we are confident that we can make our WAP Gateway work in this environment, as the protocol's datagram layer is independent of the bearer such as GSM, CSD, CDPD, etc.

How does the Jataayu Enterprise WAP Gateway maintain logs?
Jataayu EWS maintains three log files namely "jataayu.log", "access.cdr" and "error.log".

Jataayu.log is used to see the details of each and every request that is processed by the gateway. It shows information such as the User Agent, HTTP request details, the Number of bytes sent/received and the Errors occurred during the transaction. There are three levels of logs that can be recorded, the values of which have to be entered while configuring the Gateway. These values are:

0 = only critical errors,
4 = critical errors and warnings, and
7 = complete listing of all the activities
Error.log is used to record all the errors that were encountered while using the Gateway.
Access.cdr contains mainly the "Call Data Record' details.
